Men’s Basketball Loses Close Contest to Columbia State

The Cougar travelled to Roane State on Wednesday January 11 and lost the conference matchup 103-71 dropping their conference record to 3-3 and overall mark to 4-8.  The loss leaves Cleveland State tied with Walters State for fourth place in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association.

 

The Cougars falling short in virtually every basketball game statistic did have four players in double figures led by Damon Fann with 17 followed by Jarrod Taylor, Caleb Chapman and Slade "Tre' Chatman each tossing in 11.  K'Juan Banks pulled down 10 boards and had three steals.

 

Cleveland State's next home game is set for Saturday January 14 at 4:00 p.m. vs conference rival Dyersburg State.  Currently, Dyersburg stands in first place in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association with a 6-0 record.

 

Cougar home games are played in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State.  Admission charge for the public is $8 per person.  There is no charge for Cleveland State students.
