Cougar Men’s Basketball Takes Loss vs Southwest Tennessee

In a closely contested game the Cougar men came up short vs Southwest Tennessee 66-63 in a home conference game on Saturday January 28.  Cleveland State ended the day with a conference record of 4-7 and an overall mark of 5-12 falling one game behind the Salukis in the TCCAA standings.

 

The Cougars were led in scoring by Jarrod Taylor who went for 24 while K'Juan Banks dropped in 13 and Charles Freeman tossed in 10.  Banks had five rebounds while Damon Fann had five assists and five rebounds.

 

As the score indicates both the Cougars and Southwest were virtually even in the team stats across the board.  The Salukis won both halves of the game 28-26 and 38-37.  Southwest managed to go to the charity stripe with 10 more attempts then Cleveland State going 20-for-25 while the Cougars were 11-for-15.

 

Wednesday February 1 Cleveland State hits the road and heads to play Walters State with game time set for 7:30 p.m.  The Senators have a conference record of 7-3.
